Virtual Walls
The Virtual wall feature is designed to allow island units to be viewed in the elevation view of Planit. This class of wall will mimic many of the current characteristics of normal walls, but will have their own unique characteristics, and will only be visible in certain views and situations. Island units can then be placed on these new walls and be dimensioned.
Side Panels
Side panels, such as a TLEPF, that are flush with the front of unit doors, have a special parameter that controls the placement of Autofeatures.
Decorative Top Rails
Decorative Top Rails
The style of units with decorative top rails can be changed within Style Details.
Sorting Style Details
It is possible to change the order of Options when choosing Style Details.
Database Backup
On starting Planit Fusion live the
database is automatically compressed
and backed up. It is strongly
advised that the backed up file is
copied onto a back up device, such
as a USB Memory Stick or CD Writer
for security. At the end of the day
it is also advisable to back up your
days work by copying the Master
Database.
Price
Factors
Price Factors can be used to change catalogue prices and set Trade and Retail prices for use with “Profit” reports.
Faster Renders Movie
Using complicated lighting in your design will greatly enhance the presentation but cause render speeds to slow down as the lighting effects are calculated. While adding the finishing touches to your design the reduced render speed can be frustrating. It is possible to greatly increase the render speed by disabling the effects of lighting but still show all the textures and design details.

Planit server.
Changing Colours
The colour of most items is
selected in the Style Details window, available within the
Change menu as Change Default or Selection Style. These can
be overridden by using the Change Colour option.
Componentise Bespoke Units
In Planit Fusion Live, it is possible
to build bespoke units, with separate carcass, doors and drawers in
elevation view using drag and drop.
These units can be saved as Grouped
Units for use in future designs.
Componentise Basic Units
Running Auto Componentise on a
components catalogue or Universal Kitchens (NDS) will automatically
add matching doors and drawers. (This is also available in Planit
Fusion.)
In Planit Fusion Live, it is possible

Improve Render Speeds
The
speed of screen renders in Planit is influenced by various
factors in the room design.
Here
are some examples of settings that can be applied to speed up
renders during the planning stages.
Backing
Up Database
We have received a number of calls to the Helpline asking for
help and advice about backing up work saved on your PCs. It is
important with Planit Fusion to regularly backup as all your
work is now saved in a single database.
How to adjust lighting intensity on graphic lamps
Graphic lamps can be added to enhance your design.
Different levels of light can be set for each lamp.
Emailing a perspective to your Customer
I have many requests from users asking how they can
email designs to their customers. Planit Fusion gives you a
number of ways to achieve this. If you have QuickTime as
part of your Planit Fusion installation then you will be able to
produce and email a QuickTime movie. However a simple way to
email a design to your customer is to export a perspective view as
a JPEG file. All Planit Fusion users have this ability as a
standard feature in the software. If you want to see exactly
how this works, click on the "more info" button to view a mini
tutorial
Print Preview

Working Offline
CONNECT can be used in
a network environment with the database being stored and shared
from a server. However you may still want the ability to use
CONNECT and Planit off site for planning/surveying in customers
houses. The synchronisation function allows you to do this.
Price Factors
Price Factors can be
used to change catalogue prices and set Trade and Retail prices
for use with “Profit” reports.
Corner Modifiers
With Corner Modifiers
several dimensions of straight corner units can be changed to suit
specific requirements.
Export Designs
It is possible to export designs created in earlier versions of
Planit or send to another Planit user.
Import Designs
They can then be imported into Fusion complete with customer
information.
3D Sinks
The Advanced Graphic catalogue has a large range of sinks and are
available drawn with inset bowls. This movie shows how to cut the
worktops around the insets.
*BOX
is a very versatile item, in this movie we will show how create a
chimney alcove and change the colour of several items quickly.
To
ensure the colour of *BOX can match furniture styles, it is
available in most catalogues.

item called *CEILINGWEDGE. This movie will show how to add a single
slanting ceiling, a double pitched ceiling and a dormer window
solution.
Lighting
Lighting can be one of the most effective ways of creating a
stunning presentation of a design.
Many of you have asked for a demonstration of how to use lighting.
This demonstration consists of seven movies, and it is hoped that
they will help you use lighting to full its effect.
Full Screen View
Full Screen View shows the design
on the screen without Planit’s tool bars and palettes. It can also be
used to email a BMP image to a customer.
Define Print Areas

option to print a user defined area of a Plan or Elevation.
3D World

catalogue. It is a simple way to add Non
Standard Units with the correct height categories and match
colours with the Main catalogue.
Backing
Up the Connect Database
On starting Planit Fusion the database is automatically compressed and backed up. It is strongly advised that the backed up file is
copied onto a back up device, such as a CD Writer or other removable
storage device.

Mover
The Mover controls are visible in the Move
mode of the Add palette and also in the Mover palette with a few
additional controls. In this movie we will look at some of the
functions available in the Relative Mover option.
Simple View
Using Simple view is very
intuitive way of changing views in Perspective.
It also gives the opportunity of
placing the view point outside the room.
Simple
View can be especially useful when viewing an unusual shaped
design or narrow kitchen.
Windows
in Sloping Ceilings
To add windows in an angled wall it is necessary
to "build" the wall around the window/s.
In this example we will create the window/wall combination
and angle the top half
Using
the Stair Wedge (*SW)
In a situation that requires
a vertically angled wall the *SW or Stair Wedge can be used
in conjunction with a wall.
In this example we need to angle a corner
of a wall so that it does not show through the window.
Annotations
Annotations can be added automatically
or manually to plan and elevation views and can add a host
of additional information on your design including pointer
arrows.
Backgrounds
Preset in Planit is a Background render that will show a scene
through a window or gap.
These can be changed to any of the preloaded scenes and may
be stored as a favourite render setting.
