IPDS & NDS Catalogues Explained

International Product & Data Standard (IPDS)

IPDS catalogues are those created and maintained by Planit’s international partners. Our partners work closely with the manufacturers within their home market.

IPDS catalogues are automatically available to all other Planit partners for translation into local languages, and delivery to Planit customers world-wide.

Planit UK currently delivers IPDS catalogues produced and maintained in Germany, France, Holland, Denmark and Spain. These catalogues are often maintained in coordination with the manufacturer and, in some instances, the features and functionality of these differ to that of catalogues produced directly by the UK Data Team.

The IPDS catalogue process enables Planit UK to deliver international catalogues to our customers more quickly and efficiently, and with the knowledge that the same catalogues are being used by Planit customers in the manufacturer’s own home market.

Any changes required to an IPDS catalogue will always be sent to the Planit partner responsible for maintaining the source catalogue. This ensues that all changes are dealt with on an international basis.

New Data Standard (NDS)

Since its launch on the 1st July 2005, over 90% of Planit UK’s kitchen manufacturer’s catalogues have been recreated in NDS by our Data Team.

Planit developed NDS to present Planit users with several distinct advantages:

·     Further improved catalogue quality, accuracy and delivery resulting from new production techniques

·     Greater accuracy in product representation

·     Improved wood textures

·     Accurate representation of frame styles and handle position

·     Flexible catalogue structures allowing us to reflect the manufacturers’ structure more closely

·     Easier searching facilities for standard and non-standard products

·     Reductions in catalogue file sizes, allowing faster installations and downloads

·     Enhanced Visualise views

·     Interactive Handle Positioning

·     Interactive Door and drawer opening

·     Interactive Shelf positioning
