Developments

Important forthcoming developments

All supported catalogues will be updated to our Phase 4 standard and will include enhancements for the current and new version of Fusion scheduled for late 2005. Phase 4 catalogues also require an intermediate Fusion update and, along with the added security benefits, will be included in the Service Pack 1 installer which will be sent prior to the new catalogue upgrades.

What is Phase 4

Benefits of New Catalogue Standard

• General improvements to the catalogue quality due to new catalogue production processes.

• Enhancements to graphic quality through more accurate product representation (cabinets, doors, drawers, handles, interiors, etc).

• Planit catalogue to more closely mimic the structure of the real manufacturers product through more flexible catalogue structures.

• New improved wood textures further enhance graphic quality.

• Improvements in the reproduction of framed door styles.

• Non-standard feature in Planit is structured to allow easier and quicker searching of products.

• New add palette catalogue product criteria (unit types) allows for improvements in product searching.

• Reductions in catalogue file size allows faster installing of catalogues either via CD or the Web.

• Shadows are now available in the Visualise and Planit 3D views.

Service Pack 1

The primary purpose for the release of the Service Pack is to resolve the issue of potential database corruption, caused specifically by a bug in Microsoft Jet 4.0 Database Engine Service Pack 8 (SP8).

It was necessary for us to undertake independent action to address this issue on the grounds that Microsoft had not stated an intention to resolve it themselves within the foreseeable future.

To that effect, we have undertaken the following activities relating to Database protection and integrity.

All supported users will be receiving a Service Pack 1 installer and it is recommended that you install it as soon as you receive it.

Universal Catalogue Suite Update

3D Baths and Universal Office

Both of these catalogues are available as part of your Universal Catalogue suite and are available on all catalogue installers being sent out at present. They are also downloadable now, via the Planit catalogue update server.
